Jude Completes World Tour with
“Touring Europe, Israel, Japan, and America with Jefferson Starship has been a thrilling adventure filled with a zillion unforgettable moments, all shared with inspiring, talented, and hilarious bandmates,” says guitarist Jude Gold, who has been holding down the band’s lead guitar chair since longtime Jefferson Starship guitarist Slick Aguilar took leave for medical reasons in September, 2012. “And the music itself is quite fun,” adds Jude. “It has that certified San Francisco psychedelic rock ethos of adventure, improv, and explosive, take-it-to-the-moon-and-back improvisation.
“Also, the songs range from perfect three-minute radio hits to epic and ambitious album-side-length musical odysseys, all featuring fantastic lyrics and melodies from Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, Marty Balin and others. Put that all together, and you have a genre that is very close to my heart and my roots. After all, I grew up in the Bay Area. Both my parents saw Jefferson Airplane play the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco years before I was born. I am proud to play a small part in the legacy and evolution of the San Francisco sound.”
